3SUN's made-in-Italy panel excellence at Key Energy 2024

The second edition of Key Energy - Italian Exhibition Group's trade fair dedicated to energy efficiency and sustainable energy technologies, services and integrated solutions - closed on 1st March, and 3SUN was one of its protagonists.

A record-breaking 3-day event in Rimini, with some of the leading national and international green economy enterprises, which conveyed the multifaceted soul of energy transition into a single fair, showcasing all the latest news. From AI applied to sustainable solutions, to e-mobility, and the latest projects in the renewable energy sector - including the launch of 'Made in Italy' PV panels produced at our 3SUN Gigafactory in Catania on the Italian market.

A record-breaking edition

At this reference event for the energy sector - and energy transition in particular - in Southern Europe, Africa and in the Mediterranean area, more than 830 exhibitors (+30% compared to 2023) participated in this year's Key Energy, with the involvement of over 500 top buyers, and international delegations from 57 Countries.

One thing above all confirms how much the fair has grown: +41% total attendance compared to the previous edition, which proves the interest in and the importance of this fast-growing sector, supported by the essential goals of sustainability and fight against climate change within and outside Europe.

The event opened on Wednesday 28 February, in the presence - among others - of the Minister for the Environment and Energy Security, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, who also visited 3SUN's stand. In his opening speech, the Minister highlighted how 'the future of humanity will depend on the way we manage energy, which our increasingly populated world desperately needs, and will need." “Events such as KEY - he added - are an important occasion to learn more about the technology behind the energy transition."

Ready to drive change

More than 120 conventions and events enriched the fair, with interesting outstanding lectures and testimonies concerning the transformation path the energy market is going through. Among those, "Filiere del Futuro” (Future Supply Chains), organized by Symbola - Fondazione per le qualità italiane, and KEY - The Energy Transition Expo, during which the name-sake research was presented, which also involved us, with the participation of our CEO, Stefano Lorenzi.

On stage, Lorenzi pointed out: "It's not every day that you get to work for a company made up by Italian talents, which, apart from dealing with technology, advanced manufacturing, and creating value for its shareholders, also has a higher mission: reopening the PV reshoring race in Europe, and making us independent from big Asian manufacturers."

Speaking of the importance of amounting to something in Europe, with a strong photovoltaic industry, a new important measure by the Italian government, to promote the use of 'made in Europe' products was issued in the days of the fair. We are talking about the Transition Plan 5.0, which includes demand stimulation interventions, for investments in the construction of self-consumption solar plants, made with high-performing European modules.

From the stage, Lorenzi has stated how 3SUN products are 'premium PV modules', manufactured in a company 'with a strong innovative nature', which can count on an 'R&D Team that developed the cutting-edge heterojunction technology (HJT) in-house, which can reach efficiency levels higher than 25%."

Key Energy was the perfect occasion to present our portfolio, which features three ‘Made in Italy’ solar products (B60, M40 and M40 Bold), manufactured in what will become the largest Gigafactory in Europe by the end of 2024, and ready to be launched on the market to meet all Utility Scale, C&I and Residential needs, at global level. Through this journey, 3SUN will be one of the protagonists in the PV re-shoring process in our continent.
